How to Answer “why do you need a visa” section for Canada Visitor Visa?

So, you are applying for Canadian visitor visa and you came across your first blocker. And, that is to answer the question on the visitor visa application for the question “Why do you need visa?”

We must say some of the options are very straightforward but on the other hand, some options are trickier.

While we most certainly know which option in this visitor visa application makes you confused, we don’t want to go by assumption.

That being said, we will discuss each option and you can see and figure out which would be the perfectly suitable option for your visitor visa application for Canada.

Option #1: To be with a loved one who is critically ill or dying

You are supposed to select this option if any of your friend, family member or relative is critically ill and admitted in hospital. If you select this option, the visitor visa application takes priority but on the other end, you will be required to put substantial proof in your application.

Option #2: To provide care for a loved one who needs medical support

This option is somewhat related to the first option but in this case the person you are visiting to provide medical support doesn’t need to be critically ill. Some examples include if your friend, family member or relative has been in some accident and needs some support then you can select this option.

Option #3: To attend a funeral or end-of-life ceremony

This one is pretty straightforward and it doesn’t need any explanation. The person doesn’t need to be just a friend, family or relatives. It can be acquittance, a remote colleague etc. But, be prepared to provide funeral date related documentation in the supporting document section if you select this option.
